NARRATIVE
This Marshall Fire rebuild is a modern, energy-efficient take on the Chicago Prairie Style home. Designed and constructed to fully meet Passive House requirements, this residence is on track to be net zero, or better. The house is orientated to maximize solar gain in winter months, and with the use of well-designed eaves, keep the sun out in summer. With R-52 wall panels, R-80 roof panels and triple pane windows, the house is comfortable, year-round. Using heat pumps, this all electric home is 90% more energy-efficient than the 1992-built house it replaced.
